PSALM XXVI. * JUDGE me, O Lord; for I the Paths Righteousness have trod; I cannot fail, who all my Truft 2 Search, prove my Heart, whose Innocence No Hyprocite, with all his Arts, could e er my Friendship gain. 4 I'll wash my Hands in Innocence, and bring a Heart so pure; That when thy Altar I approach, my Welcome fhall fecure. 5 My Thanks I'll publish there, and tell PSALM XXVII. I CONTINUE, Lord, to hear my Voice, Whene'er to thee I cry; In Mercy all my Pray'rs receive, nor my Request deny. 2 When us to feek thy glorious Face thou kindly dost advise; "Thy Thy glorious Face I'll always feek,” 3 Then hide not thou thy Face, O Lord, nor me in Wrath reject; My God and Saviour, leave not him 4 Tho' all my Friends and nearest Kin Yet thou whofe Love excels them all, 5 God's Time with patient Faith expect, With inward Strength; do thou thy Part, and leave to him the rest. ILord, my Rock, to thee I cry, in Sighs confume my Breath; O! answer, or I fhall become like those that sleep in Death. 2 Regard my Supplication, Lord, the Cries that I repeat, I With weeping Eyes, and lifted Hands, before thy Mercy-Seat. 3 Let me escape the Sinner's Doom, who make a Trade of Ill; And ever speak the Person fair, whofe Blood they mean to fpill. 4 But I, with due Acknowledgement, his Praifes will refound, From whom the Cries of my Distress a gracious Answer found." 5 As he hath made my Joys complete, PSALM XXIX. IYE Princes, that in Might excel, your grateful Sacrifice prepare; God's glorious Actions loudly tell, his wond'rous Pow'r to all declare. 2 To his great Name fresh Altars raise; devoutly due Respect afford; Him in his holy Temple praife, where he's with folemn State ador'd. 3 'Tis he that with amazing Noife, the wat❜ry Clouds in funder breaks; The Ocean trembles at his Voice, when he from Heav'n in Thunder fpeaks.. 4 How full of Pow'r his Voice appears! with what majestic Terror crown'd! Which from the Roots tall Cedars tears, and ftrews their fcatter'd Branches round. 5 They, and the Hills on which they grow, are fometimes hurry'd far away; And leap like Hinds that bounding go, or Unicorns in youthful Play. 6 God rules the angry Floods un high; his boundless Sway fhall never cease; His People he'll with Strength fupply, and bless his own with conftant Peace. PSALM • I'LL PSALM XXX. 'LL celebrate thy Praises, Lord, To raise my drooping Head, and check. 2 In my Distress I cry'd to thee, And from the Graves expecting Jaws, 3 Thus to his Courts, ye Saints of his, With me commemorate his Truth, 4 His Wrath has but a Moment's Reign; Your Night of Grief is recompenc'd 5 But I in profp❜rous Days prefum'd; 6 But foon I found thy Favour, Lord, my Empire's only Truft; For when thou hidd'f thy Face, I faw my Honour laid in Duft. ALL Laud and Praise with Heartand Voice, O Lord, I give to thee; who didft not make my Foes rejoice, but haft exalted me. 2 O Lord, my God, to thee I cry'd Thou gav'it an Ear and did'ft provide 3 Thou, Lord, haft brought my Soul from Hell, and thou the fame didit fave From them that in the Pit do dwell, and keep'ft me from the Grave. 4 Sing praife, ye Saints, that prove and fee the Goodness of the Lord: In Honour of his Majesty I rejoice with one Accord. PSALM XXXII. HE's bleft whofe Sins have Pardon gain'd, no more in Judgment to appear; Whofe Guilt Remiffion has obtain'd, and whofe Repentance is fincere, 2 While I conceal'd the fretting Sore, my Bones confum'd without Relief: All Day did I with Anguish roar, but no Complaints affwag'd my Grief. 3 Heavy on me thy Hand remain'd, by Day and Night alike diftrefs'd; Till quite of vital Moisture drain'd, like Land with Summer's Drought oppreft. 4 No fooner I my Wound difclos'd, the Guilt that tortur'd me within, But thy Forgiveness interpos'd, and Mercy's healing Balm pour'd in. 5 True Penitents fhall thus fucceed, who feek thee whilft thou may't be found; And |
