Committee.

On motion of Comp. John Clark the following resolution was unanimously adopted:

Resolved, That a duplicate charter be issued, free of cost, to Monroe Council No. 1, in place of the charter granted that body in 1858, which has been lost.

The committee to whom was referred that portion of the address relating to the S. E. Master's degree, made the following report:

Your committee, to whom was referred so much of the T. I. G. P.'s address as relates to the Super-Excellent Master's degree, have had the same under consideration, and beg leave to offer the following:

Resolved, That in order to place Cryptic Masonry in the State of Michigan more in harmony with Sister G. Councils, that there be incorporated into the system of degrees now conferred in Councils in this jurisdiction the degree of Super-Excellent Master, to be conferred after the Select Master's degree, and without additional charge.

Which report was accepted and referred to the three first officers of the Grand Council, to report at the next Annual Convocation.

On motion, the Grand Council was called from labor to refreshment until 2 o'clock P. M.

Grand Council resumed labor.

To the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of the State of Michigan:

The committee to whom was referred so much of the T. I. G. P.'s address in regard to the communication of the Grand Council of R. and S. M. of Ontario, make the following report:

While we are very happy to receive from our friends of Ontario their very friendly regards, and as happy to return them ours, we can only say that as far as Masonry itself is found in their Order of R. and S. Masters we fully endorse. Any other matter foreign to our teachings in this jurisdiction we have nothing to do with; therefore ignore.

Resolved, That the Grand Recorder shall receive for his salary the past year $50; the Grand Sentinel, $10; and Monroe Chapter No. 1, $10 for use of hall.

The Grand Council proceeded to the installation of the Grand Officers elect, P T. I. G. P., E. Sprague presiding, whereupon the Grand Officers elect were severally installed into their respective stations.

On motion,

Resolved, That the next annual Convocation of this Grand Body be held in Masonic Hall, Detroit.

The Grand Recorder was, on motion, directed to publish and distribute the proceedings as usual, including the report on

Foreign Correspondence, and also the Constitution and By-laws of this Grand Body.

The following amendment to Section 4, Article 1, of the Constitution, was laid over for action until the next Annual Convocation:

The annual meeting of this Grand Council shall be held on the day preceding the annual meeting of the Grand Chapter, at 6 o'clock P. M.

There being no further business, the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters, of the State of Michigan was closed in ample form, after prayer by the Grand Chaplain, Comp. Rev. A. J. Davis.

The Eleventh annual Assembly of the Grand Council was held at Little Rock, November 19, 1870. Comp. George A. Donnelly, Deputy G. M., presiding. Eight Councils were represented. No address. No report on correspondence.

Comp. George A. Donnelly was elected Grand Master, and Comp. L. E. Barber, of Little Rock, re-elected Grand Recorder.
