CHRISTMAS CARDS.

DANNY and Gracie have received so many beautiful Christmas cards, that their mamma has advised them to buy an album to keep them in; so with some of the money which was given to them at Christmas, they have bought one. They have agreed to take alternate pages, and it makes their mother very happy to see that her little daughters can share their presents so pleasantly together.

By putting their money together and sharing the same book, they have of course been able to buy a much handsomer album than if each had been selfish and required a separate one for herself. They are as busy as little bees now with their paste and their scissors, and have already filled several pages with the pretty brightcoloured cards. Bobbie and Baby cannot understand why they may not put their little fingers into the paste and help sisters at their amusing work.

COUNTING THE FINGERS.

AVY, dear, your fingers hold; Listen till my story's told.

Thumb's a rogue, and whispers,
"Come,

Let us steal the sweets," says Thumb.
Straight First Finger bends to hear;
She's a rogue when Thumb is near.
Second Finger says, "I'll go."
Cries Third Finger, "Count me, too."
Little Finger stands alone,

Says,
"The sweets are not our own."
Thumb says, "Let no Finger say
Where the sweets have gone to-day."
Finger First cries out, "No, no!
Not a word from me shall go."
Finger Second shakes her head,
"She would suffer death instead.'
Finger Third is full of fear,
Lest the marks of guilt appear.
Little Finger cries, "For shame!
I shall tell where lies the blame.
If we all are made to smart,
With the rest I'll bear my part."
And I think that, through and through,
Little Finger's right-don't you?
