In answer to a resolution of the 22d instant, I transmit to the House of Representatives a report from the Secretary of State, with the British case, and papers which accompanied it.

The Secretary of State, to whom has been referred the resolution of the House of Representatives of the 22d instant, requesting the President (if not inconsistent with the public interests) to communicate to that House the case presented by the British government under the Washington treaty, with accompanying papers, has the honor to lay before the President the documents called for by the resolution. Respectfully submitted.
