The imports of these articles into the United Kingdom for 1893, 1894, and 1895 were as follows:

FISHERIES. For England and Wales, the total amount of fish landed in 1896, exclusive of shell fish, amounted to 7,551,000 ewts., of the value of £5,167,000; shell fish, £343,000), making a total value of £5,510,000.

For Scotland, the amount was 6,134,000 cwts., exclusive of shell tish, the value being £1,562,000, 10 which should be added £78,000 for shell fish, making a total of £1,647,000. The corresponding figures for Ireland show a total of 843,000 cwts., valued at £266,000, the total, including shell fish, being valued at £279,000. The total value of the fisheries of the United Kingdom, shell fish included, for 1896, was £7,436,000.
