Mr. Farrenkopf (No. 1435, Int. No. 388), entitled "An act providing for the laying out, opening and improving of one or more public streets or boulevards across Jamaica bay, from the bulkhead line on the northerly side thereof to the bulkhead line on the southerly side thereof in the city of New York, and for defraying the cost of such improvement," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to.

On motion of Mr. Farrenkopf, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Cromwell, from the committee on affairs of the city of New York, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Farrenkopf (No. 1480, Int. No. 233), entitled "An act to amend the Greater New York charter, in relation to the bureau of street cleaning of the borough of Queens and providing for a relief and pension fund for the benefit of the members of the clerical, mechanical and uniform force of such bureau," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to..

On motion of Mr. Farrenkopf, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Newton, from the committee on codes, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Wicks (No. 882, Int. No. 759), entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law, in relation to the possession and use of dangerous weapons," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to.

On motion of Mr. Wicks, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Walters, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Walters (No. 685, Int. No. 602), entitled "An act to amend the Workmen's Compensation Law, generally," reported in favor of the passage of the same with amendments, which report was agreed to.

On motion of Mr. Walters, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Cromwell, from the committee on affairs of the city of New York, to which was referred the Assembly bill introduced by Mr. Brownlee (No. 1499, Rec. No. 263), entitled "An act to amend the New York City Municipal Court Code, in relation to duties of the clerk," reported in favor of the passage of the same with amendments, which report was agreed to.

On motion of Mr. Wagner, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Wellington moved a call of the Senate.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

By direction of the President, the Clerk called the roll, when the following Senators responded:

The Clerk furnished a list of the absentees to the sergeant-atarms, who appeared in due time before the bar of the Senate with Messrs. Dowling, Emerson, Farrenkopf, Sheridan, Knight, Koenig, Newton, Robinson, Walker, Walters, Whitney and Yelverton, each of whom was excused.

Mr. Wellington moved that all further proceeding under the call of the Senate be suspended.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. E. R. Brown, from the committee on rules, to which was referred the resolution introduced by Mr. Wellington proposing an amendment to the Senate rules relative to the report of bills by standing committees, and the establishing of an adverse report calendar of the Senate, reported the same adversely.

Mr. Wellington moved to disagree with said report.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the negative, as follows:

No. 326) entitled “An act providing for the creation of a commission to prepare preliminary plans for the construction of a marine terminal in the city of Yonkers, or for the development otherwise or in connection with such terminal of the water front on the Hudson river and the land under water to the pier and the bulkhead lines in the Hudson river within the boundaries of the city of Yonkers, and to prepare a report thereon including estimates of the cost thereof," was read the third time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, the same having been printed and upon the desks of the members in its final form for three calendar legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths being present, as follows:

The Assembly bill (No. 1326, Rec. No. 217) entitled "An act making an appropriation for an exhibit of agriculture and dairying at the national milk and dairy farm exposition, to be held at Grand Central Palace, New York city, during the week of May twentieth, nineteen hundred and eighteen," was read the third time.
