E. R. Brown moved that the Senate do now adjourn, and that when the Senate reconvenes, the said report shall be the pending order of business immediately following the reading of the journal.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative. Whereupon, the Senate adjourned.

Mr. Foley introduced a bill (Int. No. 1165) entitled "An act to amend chapter six hundred of the Laws of nineteen hundred and seventeen, entitled 'An act authorizing the Governor to suspend the right to fish, boat or cut ice on any lake, reservoir, or other lands or waters owned, possessed or controlled by the city of New York and constituting a source of the water supply of such city,' generally," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on conservation.

Mr. Carroll introduced a bill (Int. No. 1166) entitled "An act to amend the Judiciary Law, in relation to the salary of the assistant deputy clerks of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Department," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Gibbs introduced a bill (Int. No. 1167) entitled “An act amend chapter five hundred and seventy of the Laws of nineteen hundred and nine, entitled 'An act to establish the city court of Buffalo, defining its powers and jurisdiction and providing for its officers,' in relation to confidential clerk and court stenographer," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Gibbs, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Robinson introduced a bill (Int. No. 1168) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, to require the attendance at school of non-English-speaking and illiterate minors," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Robinson, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on public education, retaining its place in the order of third reading.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 1169) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in regard to the maintenance of night schools in cities and school districts," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Robinson, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on public education, retaining its place in the order of third reading.

Mr. Carson introduced a bill (Int. No. 1170) entitled "An act to amend the County Law, in relation to compensation of supervisors in Ontario county," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Carson, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways, retaining its place in the order of third reading.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 1171) entitled "An act to amend the County Law, in relation to meetings of the board of supervisors in Ontario county," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Carson, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways, retaining its place in the order of third reading.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 1172) entitled "An act to amend the

Also, a bill (Int. No. 1174) entitled "An act to amend the Town Law, in relation to the tax budget system," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Cotillo introduced a bill (Int. No. 1175) entitled “An act authorizing the State Council of Defense to establish an emergency State hospital for the care and treatment of persons invalided or rejected from the military or naval forces of the State because of incipient pulmonary tuberculosis," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on war measures.

Mr. Boylan introduced a bill (Int. No. 1176) entitled "An act to provide for the admission of certain persons to the practice of dentistry and to provide for their registration," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Boylan, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on public education, retaining its place in the order of third reading.

No. 1178) entitled "An act to create a State commission to inquire into the subject of retirement pensions, allowances and annuities for State and municipal officers and employees, and making an appropriation therefor," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Lockwood, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on finance, retaining its place in the order of third reading.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 1179) entitled "An act in relation to the completion of the construction of essential rapid transit lines in a time of war, and the powers of the Public Service Commission for the First District, with the concurrence of the board of estimate and apportionment of the city of New York, with respect to uncompleted contracts for such construction, entered into by the city of New York under the authority of chapter four of the Laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-one as amended, commonly known as The Rapid Transit Act,'" which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on war measures.

Mr. Stivers introduced a bill (Int. No. 1180) entitled "An act to amend the Military Law, in relation to funeral expenses of member of the militia who dies while in the active service of the State," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Stivers, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on finance, retaining its place in the order of third reading.

act providing for a special enumeration in towns and cities in the year nineteen hundred and eighteen for the purpose of readjusting election districts," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 1182) entitled "An act to amend the Election Law, in relation to readjustment of election districts in the year nineteen hundred and eighteen," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time. Also, a bill (Int. No. 1183) entitled "An act to amend the Code of Civil Procedure, in relation to sale of real property by a temporary administrator to pay the debts of the absentee," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.
