The Senate bill (No. 1336, Int. No. 1054) entitled "An act authorizing the board of estimate and apportionment of the city of New York, in its discretion, whenever any street opened,

widened or extended in said city is to be used for rapid transit subway purposes, to direct that all or any part of the cost and expense of opening, widening or extending such street or streets shall be borne and paid by the city of New York, and authorizing the issue of corporate stock of said city for that purpose," was read the third time.

Mr. Lawson moved to reconsider the vote by which Senate bill (No. 1365, Int. No. 1076) entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law, in relation to boxing and sparring exhibitions," was lost.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative, as follows:

The Clerk furnished a list of the absentees to the sergeant-atarms, who appeared in due time before the bar of the Senate with Messrs. Dowling, Carson, Emerson, Graves, Hill, Lawson, Lockwood, Sheridan, Walters and Towner, each of whom was excused. Mr. Murphy moved that all further proceeding under the call of the Senate be suspended.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.
