Mr. Hascall submitted the following resolution which was adopted. Resolved, That the following standing committees be appointed for the present session of the Legislative Council, to consist of three members each, viz : Mr. Torrey moved, that the rule requiring one day's notice of a motion for leave to bring in a bill, be suspended for the time being, and that leave be granted to bring in A Bill to postpone the May term of the Supreme Court. Messrs. Torrey, Kingsley, and Martin were appointed a committee to prepare said bill. Mr. Torrey from that committee, reported A Bill to postpone the May term of the Supreme Court, which was read the first time. On motion of Mr. Torrey, (the rule having been suspended) The Bill was read the second time by its title, and ordered to be engrossed and read a third time to-morrow. The President laid before the Council the following communication from the Secretary of the Territory. "DETROIT, May 7, 1832. HON. JOHN M'DONELL, PRESIDENT OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUN CIL 66 SIR-In compliance with a resolution of the Legislative Council, adopted at its last session, I have the honor of transmitting to you, "A List of all the officers, Civil and Military, commissioned by the Executive of the Territory since the organization of the Territorial Government; designating the rank that such respective officers held, with the date of their commissions, so far as practicable. The Executive records, now on file in the Secretary's office, do not extend back further than the year 1814. The papers belonging to the office previous to that period, were destroyed by the enemy in the late war.
