LINCOLN, January 7, 1869.

Begun and held at the Capitol, in the city of Lincoln, on Thursday, the 7th day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, being the fifth session and first regular session of the State Legislature.

On which day, being the day fixed by law for the meeting of the General Assembly.

At the hour of 2 o'clock, P. M., the House was called to order by Mr. Griffin.

Upon whose motion, John S. Bowen was appointed Chief Clerk, pro tempore.
