RESOLUTION in relation to an adjournment of the Legislature. Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

That when the Legislature adjourns on Friday, the 5th inst., at 12 o'clock, M., they adjourn to meet again at the capitol of the State on the 2d Thursday in January, 1863. Approved September 5, 1862

RESOLUTION in relation to the restoration of Gen. McClellan to the command of the army of Virginia.

Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

That Kentucky hails with delight the restoration of Gen. Geo. B. McClellan to the command of the army of Virginia, and regards it as a high token that under his command the war will hereafter be prosecuted with the skill and energy necessary to bring it to a speedy and successful termination.

RESOLUTION in relation to the printing of the general acts of the present session of the General Assembly.

Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

That immediately after the adjournment of the present session of the Legislature the Public Printer do, as early as possible, print a sufficient number of copies of the general laws passed at this sitting of the General Assembly, to furnish one copy each to the members of the General Assembly, the clerks of the county and circuit courts, county attorneys, and county judges, in the various counties in the Commonwealth, to the circuit judges, Commonwealth's attorneys, and chancellors, and magistrates: Provided, That it be understood that in the publication of the general laws, that an act, entitled, an act re-enacting the State Guard Law with sundry amendments, &c., passed at the present session, as amended, be published in full in pamphlet form; and when printed, to be mailed or sent by express, to said officers, as may seem best and cheapest by said printer-the postage or express charges to be paid by

Resolved, That these resolutions be in force from their passage.

RESOLUTION giving clerks additional pay.

Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

That the principal clerks of the Senate and House of Representatives be allowed three days pay, in addition to what is allowed in the appropriation bill, for arranging papers, and at the same rate allowed in said bill.

RESOLUTION appropriating money to the Louisville Democrat and
Louisville Journal.

Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:

That the Auditor of Public Accounts be directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer for thirty-one dollars and fifty cents, to be equally divided between, and subject to the order of, the Louisville Democrat and Louisville Journal, for the use of their papers during the pesent session in Louisville.

RESOLUTION of thanks to the corporate authorities of Louisville, for the use of the Court House.

Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

That the thanks of the General Assembly be and are hereby tendered the corporate authorities of Louisville, for the use of he Court House during its session in that city.

CHAPTER 681.

AN ACT to fix the salaries of the Adjutant and Quarter-master Gen

erals.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That from and after the passage. of this act the salaries of the Adjutant General and Quarter-master General shall be two hundred dollars each per annum, payable as are the salaries of other officers of the Commonwealth: Provided, That whenever the Governor shall deem it necessary to call said officers into active service, he may do so, by entry, to that effect upon the Executive journal, and from the date of such order until they shall, by the direction of the Governor, be restored to the peace establishment, they shall receive a salary of $200 per month.

2. All acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act, are hereby repealed.

§3. This act shall take effect from its passage. Approved January 8, 1863.

CHAPTER 688.

AN ACT to change the time of holding the Larue County Quarter-
ly Courts.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:

§ 1. That the quarterly courts for Larue county shall be commenced and held on the second Mondays in March and September, in each year, and continue, at each term, as many days as the business of said court may require, instead of the times now held by law.

CHAPTER 693.

AN ACT concerning county officers.

Whereas, It is represented to this General Assembly that in many of the counties in this State the county officers, elected on the first Monday in August last, were prevented from taking the oath of office, and entering upon the discharge of their duties at the time fixed by law, on account of the occupancy of the State by the rebels-for remedy whereof,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That all county officers who were prevented from
taking the oath of office, and entering upon the discharge
of their duties for the reason above stated, and have since
qualified, or may hereafter qualify, and have complied
with the law in all other respects, be and the same is hereby
legalized, and all legal acts done by said officers shall have
the same force and effect as if they had qualified at the time
fixed by law.

§ 2. This act shall be in force from its passage.

CHAPTER 694.

AN ACT to change the time of holding the quarterly courts in Mar shall county.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Cemmonwealth of Kentucky:

1. That here after quarterly courts in Marshall county shall be held on the 2d Mondays in May and November, instead of the times now fixed by law.

§ 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 698.

AN ACT to amend article 2d of chapter 83, of the Revised Statutes, title, Revenue and Taxation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§1. That where judgments have been, or may hereafter be, rendered in favor of the Commonwealth, against any defaulting sheriff, clerk, or other person authorized to receive or collect public money, revenue or tax, as provided for in the article to which this is an amendment, it shall and may be lawful for the Governor of this Commonwealth, in his discretion, to remit the damages adjudged against any such defaulting officer and his sureties: Provided however, That no such remission shall be made unless the principal of such judgment, with the interest and costs, shall have first been paid into the public treasury, and the receipt of the Auditor of Public Accounts obtained therefor.

CHAPTER 699.

AN ACT allowing to the sheriffs and collectors of the public revenue and county levies in this Commonwealth for the year 1862, further time to return their delinquent lists.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That instead of the time now allowed by law, the several sheriffs and collectors of the public revenue and county levies in this Commonwealth shall have until the first day of April, 1863, in which to make out and return their several delinquent lists for the year 1862.

§2. This act shall take effect from and after its passage. Approved January 20 1863.
