PRESIDENT: Your Committee on State Affairs, to whom was referred Senate bill No. 156, An act providing for a county assessor and deputy assessors in certain counties, prescribing their powers, duties, liabilities, and compensation, prohibiting the appointment of city assessors in such counties and the assessment of property by them, and limiting the powers of township trustees and county clerks therein, have had the same under consideration, and instruct me to report the bill back to the Senate with the recommendation that it be passed. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Elections, to whom was referred Senate bill No. 355, An act to amend sections 5, 6, 10 and 11 of chapter 177 of the Session Laws of 1901, entitled "An act to amend chapter 129 of the Session Laws of 1897, entitled 'An act to amend chapter 78 of the Session Laws of 1893, entitled "An act to provide for the printing and distributing of ballots at the public expense, and for the nomination of candidates for public office; to regulate the manner of holding elections and to enforce the secrecy of the ballot, and to provide for the punishment of the violations of this act," and to repeal the same,' approved March 13, 1897, as amended by chapter 17 of the Session Laws of the extra session of 1898," as amended by chapter 177 of the Session Laws of 1901, and to repeal all acts inconsistent herewith, have had the same under consideration, and instruct me to report the bill back to the Senate with the recommendation that it be passed.
