The committee appointed on conference of Senate bill No. 992 made the following report: To the Senate and House of Representatives: Your conference committee on House bill No. 992 have had the same under consideration, and beg leave to submit the following report: That Senate amendment be stricken out and that original section 2 of the bill be amended by striking out in line 5 the word "governor" and inserting the words "Executive Council." Also, add after the word elected, in the fourth line, the words "and shall take office on the second Monday in January after their election." After section 2 insert section 3, to read: "Section 3. That section 4 of chapter 286 of the Session Laws of 1901 be amended to read: Sec. 4. No person owning any bonds, stock or property in any railroad company, or who is in the employment, or who is in any way or manner pecuniarily interested in railroads, shall be eligible to the office of railroad commissioner, secretary or stenographer of said board. Said railroad commissioners, secretary and stenographer shall be qualified electors of the state. Said commissioners, secretary and stenographer shall be sworn to the due and faithful performance of the duties of their respective offices before entering upon the discharge of the same. Each of said commissioners shall enter into bonds, with security to be approved by the Executive Council, in the sum of $10,000, conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties. That sections 3 and 4 of the bill be renumbered 4 and 5, respectively. That the title be amended by inserting the figure "4" after the figure "2." And that the bill, as amended, be passed. F.
