Insert section 2, as follows: "That the fairs held and the premiums awarded by the said association shall have the same standing as those given by other states."

Make section 2 in this bill to read "section 3," and amend same by striking out "statute-book" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "official state paper."

Senator Tapp introduced Senate resolution No. 88, as follows:

cient manner in which he has performed all of the duties required of him, and he is hereby given permission to take his desk which he has used and appropriate it to himself.

Senator Tapp also introduced Senate resolution No. 89, as follows:

Resolved, That the thanks of the Senate are hereby tendered to E. Baxter, bookkeeper of the Senate, for the courteous, faithful and efficient manner in which he has performed all of the duties required of him.

The resolution was adopted.

Senator Branine introduced Senate resolution No. 90, as follows:

Resolved, That the grateful appreciation of the members of the Senate is hereby acknowledged to the reporters and representatives of the press for the uniform fairness and courtesy shown in reporting the proceedings of the Senate.

The resolution was adopted.

Senator Wulfekuhler introduced Senate resolution No. 91, as follows:

Resolved, That the thanks of the Senate be extended to Miss Nellie Legate for the prompt and efficient service she has rendered the Senate as telephone clerk.

The resolution was adopted.

Senator Ward introduced Senate resolution No. 92, as follows:

Resolved, That the Senate of the state of Kansas does hereby express its appreciation to T. A. Wiseman for the kind, courteous and efficient manner that he has discharged the arduous duties of the office of assistant secretary.

The resolution was adopted.

Senator Miller introduced Senate resolution No. 93, as follows:

WHEREAS, Senators Householder and King have loyally served the state of Kansas in the state Senate for twelve and sixteen years respectively; and

WHEREAS, The state has been greatly benefited by their wise counsels: therefore, be it

Resolved, That the best wishes of the Kansas Senate are hereby tendered to Senators Householder and King for their faithful work, and they pass from this Senate chamber to-night bearing the high

est esteem of us, who have been their associates in the Kansas Senate. Be it further

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the Senate Journal and a copy furnished each of these senators.

Senator Morrow introduced Senate resolution No. 94, as follows:

Resolved, That the thanks of the Senate are hereby extended to the Missouri & Kansas and the Independent Telephone Companies for the many courtesies extended to the Senate during this session. The resolution was adopted.

Senator Branine introduced Senate resolution No. 95, as follows:

Resolved, by the majority members of the Senate, that they hereby acknowledge their high appreciation of the disposition shown by the minority to assist and facilitate the work of the Senate during this session.

The resolution was adopted.

Senator Wright expressed the thanks of the minority side of the Senate for the many courtesies shown them by the majority of the Senate.

Senator Caldwell introduced Senate resolution No. 96, as follows:

Resolved, That the State Horticulture Society shall have such desks, tables, chairs and other furniture as will supply the needs of their rooms from any suitable furniture now in any of the committee rooms in the state-house.

Senator Chaney moved that the chair appoint a committee of conference on House bill No. 600, consisting of two members.

The motion prevailed.

The chair appointed on such committee Senators Fitzpatrick and White.

Senator Noftzger introduced Senate resolution No. 96, as follows:

Resolved, That on account of his efficiency, industry, and devotion to duty, the sincere thanks of the Senate are hereby tendered to the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means.

The resolution was adopted.

Senator Morehouse introduced Senate resolution No. 97, as follows:

Resolved: That the grateful thanks of this body are hereby extended to the reporters and correspondents of the public press for the full, fair and able manner in which they have reported and published the proceedings of this Senate and the personal courtesy they have always shown its members. They have been lenient with our errors and have praised and commended our proper actions, and at all times conducted themselves as gentlemen as well as skilled representatives of their profession.
