Our Father, who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation ;

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,

[blocks in formation]

M. O Lord, open Thou our lips.

P. And our mouth shall show forth thy praise.

M. O God, make speed to save us.

P. O Lord, make haste to help us.

M. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
And to the Holy Ghost;

C. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
World without end.

M. Praise ye the Lord.

Amen.

C. The Lord's name be praised.

All. O come, let us sing unto the Lord :

Let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; And shew ourselves glad in Him with psalms.

For the Lord is a great God:

And a great King above all gods.

In his hand are all the corners of the earth :
And the strength of the hills is his also.
The sea is his, and He made it ;
And his hands prepared the dry land.
O come, let us worship, and fall down,
And kneel before the Lord our Maker :
For He is the Lord our God;

And we are the people of his pasture,

And the sheep of his hand.

To-day, if ye will hear his voice,

Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation,

And as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
When your fathers tempted me,

Proved me, and saw my works.

Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said,

It is a people that do err in their hearts,

For they have not known my ways.
Unto whom I sware in my wrath,

That they should not enter into my rest.
M. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,

And to the Holy Ghost;

C. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, World without end. Amen.

M. We praise Thee, O God;

We acknowledge Thee to be the Lord.

P. All the earth doth worship Thee:

The Father everlasting.

M. To Thee all angels cry aloud :

The heavens, and all the powers therein. C. To Thee cherubim and seraphim

Continually do cry,

All. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Sabaoth,

Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of thy glory.
M. The glorious company of the apostles praise Thee.
P. The goodly fellowship of the prophets praise Thee.
M. The noble army of martyrs praise Thee.
C. The holy church throughout all the world
Doth acknowledge Thee.

All. The Father of an infinite majesty :
Thine honourable, true, and only Son:
Also the Holy Ghost, the Comforter.
M. Thou art the King of Glory, O Christ.

P. Thou art the everlasting Son of the Father.
M. When Thou tookest upon Thee to deliver man,
Thou didst not abhor the Virgin's womb.

P. When Thou hadst overcome the sharpness of death, Thou didst open the kingdom of heaven to all believers. Thou sittest at the right hand of God,

In the glory of the Father.

All. We believe that Thou shalt come to be our Judge. We therefore pray Thee, help thy servants,

Whom Thou hast redeemed with thy precious blood. Make them to be numbered with thy saints

In glory everlasting.

M. O Lord, save thy people.

And bless thy heritage.
Govern them,

And lift them up for ever.

P. Day by day we magnify Thee,

C. And we worship thy name ever world without end.
M. Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this day without

sin.

P. O Lord, have mercy upon us-have mercy upon us. C. O Lord, let thy mercy lighten upon us,

As our trust is in Thee.

All. O Lord, in Thee have we trusted:

Let us never be confounded.

We believe in God the Father Almighty,

Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived of the Holy Ghost;

Born of the Virgin Mary ;

Suffered under Pontius Pilate;

Was crucified, dead, and buried;

He descended into Hades :

The third day He rose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven,

And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Ghost:

The holy Catholic Church;

The communion of saints;

The forgiveness of sins;

The resurrection of the body;
And the life everlasting. Amen.
M. The Lord be with you.
P. And with thy spirit.

M. Lord, have mercy upon us.
C. Christ, have mercy upon us.

P. Lord, have mercy upon us.

M. O Lord, show thy mercy upon us.
P. And grant us thy salvation.

M. O Lord, save the Queen.

P. And mercifully hear us when we call upon Thee.

M. Endue thy ministers with righteousness.

P. And make thy chosen people joyful.

M. O Lord, save thy people.

P. And bless thine inheritance.

M. Give peace in our time, O Lord.

P. Because there is none other that fighteth for us,

But only Thou, O God.

M. O God, make clean our hearts within us.

P. And take not thy holy Spirit from us.

All. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,

And the fellowship of the Holy Ghost,
Be with us all. Amen.

XXVII. SUPPLICATIONS.*

All. O God the Father in heaven have mercy upon us. O God the Son, the Redeemer of the world, have mercy upon us.

M. Remember not Lord our offences, nor those of our

forefathers;

Neither take Thou vengeance of our sins:

Spare us, good Lord, spare thy people,

Whom Thou hast redeemed with thy most precious blood, And be not angry with us for ever.
