By unanimous consent, Mr. Shurtleff called up House Bill No. 397 in the order of second reading; and House Bill No. 397, a bill for “An Act to amend and revise section thirty-five (35) of an Act entitled, 'An Act for the assessment of property and providing the means therefor, and to repeal a certain Act therein named,' approved February 25, 1898, in force July 1, 1898, as amended by an Act approved May 18, 1905, in force July 1, 1905,"

Having been printed, was taken up and read at large a second time, Whereupon, the Committee on Revenue offered the following amendment and moved its adoption:

AMENDMENT No. 1.

Amend House Bill No. 397, by striking out of the printed bill in lines 50 and 51 of page 3, the following words: "And collection of their proportionate share of taxes."

And the amendment was adopted.

There being no further amendments the foregoing amendment was ordered printed,

And the question then being, "Shall the bill, as amended, be engrossed for a third reading?" it was decided in the affirmative.
