Mr. Smejkal, from the Committee on Appropriations, to which was referred House Bill No. 586, being a bill for "An Act making an appropriation to meet a deficiency in the appropriation for the ordinary expenses of the Southern Illinois Penitentiary for the two years ending July 1, 1915, and declaring an emergency,"

Reported the same back with amendments thereto, with the recommendation that the amendments be adopted and that the bill, as amended, do pass.

Mr. Turnbaugh, from the Committee on Industrial Affairs, to which was referred House Bill No. 207, being a bill for "An Act to amend sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, of an Act entitled, 'An Act to regulate and limit the hours of employment of females in any mechanical or mercantile establishment, or factory, or laundry, hotel or restaurant, or telegraph or telephone establishment or office thereof, or in any place of amusement, or by any express or transportation or public utility business, or by any common carrier, or in any public institution incorporated or unincorporated, in this State, in order to safeguard the health of such employees; to provide for its enforcement and a penalty for its violation,' approved June 15, 1909, in force July 1, 1909, as amended by an Act approved June 10, 1911; in force July 1, 1911, and to add two additional sections thereto to be known as sections 6 and 7 and to amend the title of said Act,"

Reported the same back with amendments thereto, with the recommendation that the amendments be adopted and that the bill, as amended, do pass.
