No person having received the necessary constitutional majority, the Secretary of State announced that there was no choice for Temporary Speaker.

At the hour of 1:40 o'clock p. m., Mr. Shanahan moved that the House do now adjourn until 10 o'clock a. m. tomorrow.

The motion prevailed,

And the House stood adjourned.

The Journal of yesterday was being read, when, on motion of Mr. Igoe, the further reading of the same was dispensed with, and it was ordered to stand approved.

The following communication, together with the papers referred to therein, was received from the Secretary of State and delivered to the Provisional Clerk to be turned over to the Speaker of the House when elected:
