Laces, edgings, embroideries, insertings, neck rufflings, ruchings,
trimmings, tuckings, lace window curtains, and other similar tam-
boured articles, and articles embroidered by hand or machinery,
embroidered and hemstitched handkerchiefs, and articles made
wholly or in part of lace, rufflings, tuckings, or ruchings, composed
of flax, jute, or other vegetable fiber, except cotton, or of which
either of these substances, except cotton, is the component material
of chief value, not specially provided for

Laces, lace window curtains, tidies, pillow shams, napkins, bed sets, [insert-
ings, flouncings, or other lace articles, handkerchiefs, wearing apparel,
and other articles made wholly or in part of lace, or in imitation of lace,
by whatever name known; nets or nettings, and veilings, etamines, rit-
rages, trimmings, neck rufflings, ruchings, tuckings, flutings, quillings,
handkerchiefs, and other articles embroidered in any manner, whether
with a letter, monogram, or otherwise, by hand or machinery; tamboured
or appliqued articles, and articles made wholly or in part of rufflings,
tuckings, or ruchings, hemstitched or tucked flouncings or skirtings; all
the articles above named in this paragraph composed of flax, hemp, or
other vegetable fiber, and not elsewhere specially provided for in this act,
whether composed in part of india rubber or otherwise...
Provided, That no wearing apparel or other article when embroidered by
hand or machinery shall pay duty at a less rate than may be elsewhere
specially provided therefor in this act, nor less than that fixed upon any
embroideries of the materials of which such articles are composed.
Laces; lace window curtains, tidies, pillow shams, napkins, bed sets, insert-
ings, flouncings, and other lace articles; handkerchiefs, wearing apparel,
and other articles made wholly or in part of lace, or in imitation of lace;
nets or nettings, veils and veilings, etamines, vitrages, neck rufflings,
ruchings, tuckings, flutings, and quillings; embroideries and all trimmings,
including edgings, insertings, flouncings, galloons, and bands; wearing
apparel, handkerchiefs, and other articles or fabrics embroidered in any
manner by hand or machinery, whether with a letter, monogram, or other-
wise; tamboured or appliqued articles, fabrics or wearing apparel; hem-
stiitched or tucked flouncings or skirtings, and articles made wholly or in
part of rufflings, tuckings, or ruchings; all of the foregoing, composed
wholly or in chief value of flax, cotton, or other vegetable fiber, and not else-
where specially provided for in this Act, whether composed in part of india
rubber or otherwise, 60 per cent ad valorem: Provided, That no wearing
apparel or other article or textile fabric, when embroidered by hand or
machinery, shall pay duty at a less rate than that imposed in any schedule
of this Act upon any embroideries of the materials of which such embroidery
is composed.

Laces, edgings, nettings, and veilings, embroideries, insertings, neck
rufilings, ruchings, trimmings, tuckings, lace window curtains,
tamboured articles, and articles embroidered by hand or machinery,
embroidered handkerchiefs, and articles made wholly or in part of
lace, rufflings, tuckings, or ruchings, composed of flax, jute, or other
vegetable fiber, except cotton, or of which either of these sub-
stances, except cotton, is the component material of chief value,
not specially provided for (act of 1894)......

Lace window curtains, pillow shams, bed sets, and other articles, finished
or unfinished, made on the Nottingham lace curtain machine or on the
Nottingham warp machine, and composed of cotton or other vegetable fiber,
when counting five points or spaces between the warp threads to the
inch

When counting more than five such points or spaces to the inch..........
Provided, That none of the above-named articles shall pay a less rate of
duty than 50 per cent.

336 Embroideries, including embroidered edgings, insertings, flouncings, gal-
loons, bands, and other trimmings, whether embroidered by hand or ma-
chinery, composed of cotton or other vegetable fiber, or of which cotton
or other vegetable fiber is the component material of chief value....
Provided, That none of the articles named shall pay a less rate of duty than
60 per cent.

339 Burlaps, of flax, jute or hemp, or of which flax, jute, or hemp, or
either of them, shall be the component material of chief value

Plain woven fabrics of single jute yarns, by whatever name known, [not
exceeding 60 inches in width, weighing not less than 6 ounces per
square yard and not exceeding thirty threads to the square inch, count-
ing the warp and filling..

If exceeding thirty and not exceeding fifty-five threads to the square
inch, counting the warp and filling

Provided, That any of the above having more than 3 per cent of the
number of warp and weft threads bleached, dyed, colored, stained,
painted, or printed shall pay a duly of 1 cent per pound and 20 per
cent
