CHAPTER I.

An Act in relation to the New Albany and Vincennes Turnpike Road

[APPROVED FEBRUARY 16, 1848.]

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Amount to be State of Indiana, That from and after the passage of this annually expended. act the superintendent of the New Albany and Vincennes road shall expend annually the sum of three thousand dollars, in repairs on said road between New Albany and Paoli, exclusive of the amount which he may be required to expend in making and repairing bridges.

SEC. 2. That the sum of five hundred dollars be ap- expended on propriated and expended for the erection of two bridges bridges and across Lost river, where the road crosses the same, in when. the year 1848; and that the further sum of five hundred dollars be appropriated and expended for the erection of said bridges in the year 1849; and that it shall be lawful for the citizens of Orange county, or other persons to subscribe the sum of five hundred dollars, or any part thereof, for the erection of said bridges; and in case such subscriptions shall be made, the said citizens or Citizens of Orpersons so subscribing the same shall be entitled to ange county or have the several sums subscribed by them refunded out subscribe. of the appropriations for the year 1849; and that the Amount re funded out of further sum of one hundred dollars for the year 1848, and what approone hundred dollars for the year 1849, be appropriated priation.
