In accordance with the provisions of the constitution, the members of the Senate were called to order at 12 o'clock noon by Lieut.-Gov. A. M. Harvey, who by virtue of his office is president of the Senate.

Prayer was offered by Rev. D. D. Boyle.

The assistant secretary of state presented the certificates of Senators elect, as follows:
