INTRODUCTION OF ORIGINAL MOTIONS AND RESOLUTIONS. Senator Brewster moved that the secretary be instructed to have 1000 copies of Senate bill No. 202 printed, which motion prevailed. The matter was thereupon referred to the Committee on Printing.

CONSIDERATION OF MOTIONS AND RESOLUTIONS. Senate resolution No. 24, by Senator Huffman, was called up by Senator Huffman.

On motion of Senator Huffman, the resolution was amended by adding the following words: "provided, that this shall not apply to the janitors, who will work under the direction of the sergeant-at-arms."

The resolution as amended was, on motion of Senator Huffman, adopted.

Senator Quincy called up House joint resolution No. 3, Pro- . viding for the transfer of the Cedar Creek pumping plant to the city of Olathe, Kan., by one D. P. Houghland.

Senator Hodges moved that the rules be suspended, an emergency declared, and House joint resolution No. 3 be placed on third reading, which motion prevailed. The resolution was thereupon read the third time. The chair announced the pending question, "Shall the resolution be adopted?"

The roll was called, with the following result: Yeas 37, nays 0; absent or not voting, 3.
