(2) This is ihe vett amount of sales and amount paid by purchasers, after deducting all reversions and relinquishments of land sold under the credit system, ending on the 30th June, 1820.

(3) This is the amount paid into the Treasury in 1820, for the sales of land under the credit and cash systems.

(4) These aggregates include the special sales mude prior to the organiza. tion of the land districts-also the amount of forfeited lund stock, Mississippi stock, and military land scrip, received in payment for the public lands.

In making estimates or comparisons between the sums receivable, and the quantities of land sold at different times, it is important to renienīber that the minimum price per acre was two dollars before 1820, and since only one dollar and twenty-five cents.
