House of Representatives has adopted House concurrent resolution No. 30, "In relation to mail routes."

House concurrent resolution No. 31, "Petitioning an amendment to the U. S. homestead laws in favor of certain classes;" and has concurred in the adoption of Senate concurrent resolution No. 37, "Relating to the Osage ceded lands."

House concurrent resolution No. 31, "Petitioning an amendment to the United States homestead laws, in favor of certain classes," was laid over under the rules.

Mr. Brandley offered the following resolution, which was adopted:

Resolved, That when the Senate adjourns it be to meet again Monday, February 24, 1873, at 3 o'clock P. M.

Mr. Murdock moved to take up House concurrent resolution No. 29, "Relating to an adjournment," from the table.

Mr. Brandley moved that the motion be laid upon the table, which motion prevailed.

Mr. Walker asked but was not granted leave of absence for eight days.

On motion, the Senate adjourned.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment; President in the

Roll called. The following gentlemen were present and answered

to their names: Messrs. Brandley, Butler, Barker, Edwards, Ely, Grimes, Judd, Martindale, McFarland, McWirt, Moonlight, Morrill, Murdock, O'Neil, Palmer, Price, Simons, St. John, Topping, Wilson, J. C., Wilson, V. P., and Winter. Quorum present. Prayer by the Chaplain, Rev. F. S. McCabe.

The journal of Saturday was read and approved.

Mr. Martindale offered Senate concurrent resolution No. 40, "Relating to the State Board of Agriculture," which was laid over under the rules.

Mr. Martindale moved that the rules be suspended, and Senate concurrent resolution No. 40 be considered now; which motion prevailed, and Senate concurrent resolution No. 40, “Relating to the State Board of Agriculture," was taken up for consideration. The question being upon the adoption of the resolution, a vote was had and the resolution adopted.

Ordered that the Secretary inform the House thereof.

REPORTS OF COMMITTEES.

Mr. Topping, chairman of the committee on roads and bridges, made the following reports:

MR. PRESIDENT: Your committee on roads and bridges, to whom was referred substitute for House bills Nos. 27, 34, 103, 121, "An act to declare section lines in Wilson, Smith, Jewell, Barton, Harvey, Wabaunsee, Lincoln, Russell, Pratt and Kingman counties, State of Kansas, public highways," have had the same under consideration, and I am directed to report the said bill to the Senate with the recommendation that it be passed.
