Gentlemen voting in the affirmative were: Messrs. Blair, Barker, Crichton, Edwards, Ely, Grimes, Guerin, Judd, Martindale, McFarland, McWirt, Moonlight, Morrill, Murdock, O'Neil, Palmer, Price, Rogers, Schmidt, Simons, St. John, Wilson, J. C., and Winter.

Mr. Ely moved that the Senate do now resolve itself into committee of the whole for the consideration of bills on the calendar.

Mr. Moonlight moved to amend by inserting "House bill No. 167," and upon which a vote was had and the amendment adopted.

The question being upon the motion as amended, a vote was had and the motion prevailed.

After some time spent therein, the committee arose, and through its chairman made the following report:

MR. PRESIDENT: Your committee of the whole Senate have had under consideration the following bills:

House bill No. 167, "An act to authorize and empower cities of the first class to purchase and acquire real estate," and I am directed to report the said bill to the Senate with the recommendation that it be passed.

Senate bill No. 12, "An act to amend 'An act relating to the conveyance of real estate,'" and recommend that it be passed. Senate bill No. 23, "To amend a bill to protect the people of Kansas from empiricism, and to elevate the medical profession," and recommend that it be rejected.

Senate bill No. 15, "An act to repeal an act entitled 'An act to amend sections 51, 52 and 53 of an act entitled 'An act concerning private corporations;"" pending the consideration of which, the committee arose and asked leave to sit again.

On motion, the Senate adjourned.
