Senate Bill No. 44, To amend section 1 of chapter 35, General Statutes of 1868, relating to dram shops.

Senate Bill No. 39, To amend an act entitled an act relating to the sale of property without appraisement, approved March 1, 1872.

Mr. Blair moved that the Senate now resolve itself into Committee of the Whole for the consideration of bills upon the Calendar.

Which motion prevailed.

After some time spent therein the Committee arose, and through their Chairman made the following report:

MR. PRESIDENT: Your Committee of the Whole have had under consideration

Senate Bill No. 11, An act entitled an act to repeal portion of section 601 of the Code of Civil Procedure, article 25, chapter 80, General Statutes of Kansas,

And recommend that it be passed over.

Senate Bill No. 38, An act to legalize the organization of the Junction City and Fort Kearney Railroad Company, And recommend that it be passed.

Senate Bill No. 37, An act to amend an act regulating interest on money,

And report progress and ask leave to sit again.

Have had the same under consideration, and I am directed to report the said bill to the Senate with the recommendation that it be passed.

Senate Bill No. 44 be placed upon third reading now.

Which motion prevailed, and

Was read the third time.

And the question being: Shall the bill pass?

The roll was called with the following result:

Yeas, 4; nays, 14.

Gentlemen voting in the affirmative were:

Gentlemen voting in the negative were:

And so a constitutional majority not having voted in favor of the passage of the bill,

The bill was lost.
