Mr. Edwards moved that the money deposited with the Secretary be placed in the hands of the President of the Senate, and that it remain there until such a time as a Committee of Investigation can be appointed.

Which motion prevailed.

Mr. Schofield, Chairman of the Committee appointed to await upon the Senator elect, reported that Mr. Ingalls could not be found.

Mr. St. John moved that the vote by which the resolution of investigation was adopted yesterday be reconsidered. Which motion prevailed.

Was read the third time.

Mr. Edwards moved to amend by inserting the following item: To George C. Crowther for transcribing the Senate. Journal of 1872, $104.75.

Upon which a vote was had, and

The amendment was adopted.

And the question being: Shall the Bill as amended pass?
The roll was called with the following result:
